METHODISTS gained a ten-wicket home victory over Bitton 2nds who, batting first, were quickly in trouble.
Accurate bowling from Daniel Shearn and Stuart Green gave the batters very little to hit and, combined with tidy work from 'keeper Dave Sackett and the home fielders, kept run-scoring to a minimum.
Meanwhile, Shearn (3-12) and Green (2-7) had continued to chip away and take wickets at regular intervals - Bitton slumping to 18-5 inside 13 overs.
A change of bowling saw Charlotte Hazell (2-13) claim another couple of victims, but Vignesh Ramachandra (28) and Muhammad Irfan (13) managed to delay the inevitable with some spirited resistance. Mark Robinson (2-8) eventually helped the hosts to wrap up the innings up after 24.3 overs, as Bitton posted a modest 55 all out.
After a quick turnaround, Methodists' skipper Alex Nash survived an early scare as he was dropped off the very first delivery. This turned out to be a costly error as he continued his recent good form and began to chase down the opposition's total.
Fourteen runs from the third over and then eighteen from the fifth made short work of this task - Nash (44*) ensuring the Methodists finished things off very quickly, cruising to a ten-wicket victory in just 7.2 overs.
