Timsbury’s Third XI picked up their fourth victory in five outings with a convincing 52-run victory away at second-placed Whitchurch.
Batting first in glorious sunshine, the visitors played sensibly to accumulate a commanding total of 191–8 from their forty overs; Sam Sparks top scoring with 43. Sparks was well supported by Kelvin Hancock (30), Matthew Ball (23), and Callum Jennings added a quick-fire twenty from just eleven balls in the final few overs.
The Whitchurch run chase was given early momentum by Rob Milkins, whose powerful hitting brought him fifty from just forty balls, before he was bowled by Ball. Home skipper, Harry Watkins, played well for 44, and Tom Rossiter added thirty, but none of the other Whitchurch players reached double figures as they were dismissed for 139. Teenagers, Joe Kinnear (4–17) and Will Rawlings (3–21) were the pick of the Timsbury bowlers, taking the final seven wickets between them in just 8.4 overs. A. Davis
