PAULTON Rovers Football Club’s long serving former kit man Colin Parsons has died following a long period of ill health.

The Jewson Western Football League club would like to offer their condolences to his wife Sue and all their families. Sue was also a long serving member of the club.

Colin was well known in wider footballing circles, first as a combative player, then as a firm referee and for nearly 20 years as Paulton Rovers’ kit man and as a member of the commitee.

He was well respected by many former Rovers players and in recent years throughout many clubs in the non league pyramid.

In the build up to the Norwich City first round FA Cup game in 2009 he was interviewed by TV and many radio stations. His strong Somerset accent often needed translating! He will certainly be long remembered.
