PAULTON Rovers went down to a 4-0 away defeat against second-placed Portishead Town in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western League.
The opener came as early as the 12th minute from a good move leaving Kyle Egan in space in the area to sweep the ball in.
The second came only two minutes later when Jason Quick hit an unstoppable shot from distance.
With a two goal lead, Portishead could start to manage the game but Rovers did start to make some inroads later in the half.
However, any hopes of getting back into the game were dashed 20 seconds into the second half. From the Rovers’ kickoff, Portishead stole the ball leaving Jay Murray to strike. His shot was deflected leaving Dan Jackson no hope.
After losing the third in unbelievable fashion, the fourth was just as bad. In the 67th minute Murray grabbed his second as the Portishead team opened up Rovers very easily.
