Paulton Rovers 2 Lymington Town 2

Paulton grabbed a late equaliser to make it three games on the trot.

Ed Butcher had a shot punched away by Lymington keeper Amad Skrzyniarz and then Lee Ibrahim shot wide of target as the home side pressed.

Rovers took a fourteenth minute lead as Leighton Thomas headed home Butcher’s swinging corner from the right.

The Linnets’ responded in the swirling wind and levelled after twenty five minutes as Luke Churchill overhit corner was met on the left by Toby Bailey who chipped the ball into the net.

Jack Ball fired wildly wide for Paulton and veteran striker Craig McAllister missed a complete open goal for the visitors. Then Rovers stopper Aaron Sainsbury saved well from Harrison Cable.

The second half started with Butcher’s hitting a fierce shot that was deflected. On fifty minutes, Lymington went ahead as a cross from Luke Waterfield was turned home by Cable.

Sainsbury tipped over Cable’s next shot before Rovers saw Thomas’s drive and Ball’s shot both saved by Skrzyniarz who then saved James Byrne’s header.

Paulton equalised in the eighty eighth minute from Ibrahim’s free-kick on the left, Joe Paradise drove against the foot of the post and Thomas spectacularly scored with an overhead kick.

There was a late chance for the hosts as captain Neill Martin’s free-kick was tipped over bar by the keeper.

Paulton Rovers player of the match was Leighton Thomas.

Lymington player of the match went to Amad Skrzyniarz.
