WELTON Rovers’ search for their first elusive points of the season goes on despite a spirited home display in a 5-0 defeat by Ivybridge Town in the Premier Division of the Jewson League.

Welton started brightly enough but the breakthrough for the visitors came in the 33rd minute when a corner from the right was met by Wright, who headed home unchallenged.

Just before half time Ivybridge got their second when Sean Thomson turned and fired in his shot past Cordillet.

The visitors were straight out of the blocks at the start of the second half and got their third on 50 minutes when a cross from Harry Jeffrey was met by Wright who volleyed home.

It came as no surprise when Pritchard broke through the Welton defence to score number four for Ivybridge. With the game well into added time Ivybridge got their fifth when substitute Brody Pawley thumped home his shot from 15 yards out.
