AS THE sun came out in July, Camerton and Peasedown Croquet Club turned their minds to social croquet events.
A club barbeque, with fun croquet challenges, was well supported by the club’s newest members and its broader family of established and social members. The afternoon was one of glorious weather and apparently easy fun games, which were anything but easy.
The new clubhouse was a great asset for this event; plenty of space for tables and chairs - both inside and out.
Camerton and Peasedown has also been hosting several ‘taster’ events for local groups which have included the members of Freshford’s ‘Not The WI’ , the Minerva Choir from Bath, Bath 2nd Trefoil Guild and a local Drystone Walling group.
These events included some basic skills coaching, as an introduction to the game, with light refreshments served.
The club also hosts the annual Croquet Social Evening between two local Rotary Clubs which is always keenly contested and enjoyed by all.
