CONGRATULATIONS go to Ann James who was the winner of the Harris Trophy in this year's Orchardleigh Golf Club Ladies' Championship.

The competition took place over two days - Saturday, the 20th July and Sunday, the 21st July - and on the Saturday the weather was dull with drizzly rain coming in later in the day after the players had completed their rounds.

A great first round gross score came in from Ann James with an 87 which was followed by Sarah Hynds on 90 and Sue Marshall 92. The second round was played in better sunny breezy conditions but this was not reflected in the scores as Ann James shot a higher 92 round as did Sarah Hynds.

It was Sue Marshall who had the best round of the day on the Sunday with a round of 91. However, overall Ann James shone out with a three shot lead on 179 followed by Sarah Hynds with 182 and close behind on 183 was Sue Marshall.

The prize winners of the Ladies' Club Championship at Orchardleigh Golf Club are as follows: Ladies Champion (Harris Trophy) Ann James (179); Runner-up (Claret Jug) Sarah Hynds (182); 3rd place ('New' Cup) Sue Marshall (183). 2nd Division Gross Overall Winner (Louis Goblet) Pat Pitt (209); Runner-up – Liz Thomas (212). 1st Division Nett Overall Winner (Wilder Cup) Ann James (141); Runner-up – Sarah Hynds (150) 2nd Division Nett Overall Winner (Dicken Cup) Pat Pitt (153); Runner-up – Liz Thomas (156).
