FOSSEWAY golf course has rarely looked in better shape than it is at the moment and Alan White and Richard Sullivan certainly took advantage of it in the latest competition for the Seniors section.
In the Bill Lester Texas Scramble they combined to record an excellent nett score of 56, beating the rest of the field by a clear seven shots. Phil Winsley and Noel Chatfield were second with a nett score of 63 with third placed Allen Cheney and Paul Ellis beaten on countback.
The battle for the Clem Byrne Trophy was a much closer affair with Andy Flagg, Shaun Goodwin and Frank Mitchell winning the Triples Stableford with a total of 82 points. Two points behind came Chris Appleton, Chris Champion and White with Frank Reeves, Rob Wells and Winsley third with 78 points. In announcing the results Seniors secretary Alan Jones said how good it was to see some of the most recent recruits featuring strongly.
