The Ladies’ section at Orchardleigh Golf Club challenged the Senior section in a fun, annual competition which took place on Wednesday, 16th October in good weather conditions.
Forty members took part in the four-ball individual stableford competition. The total of the individual scores were totted up, and once again, the Seniors’ 520 points outdid the Ladies’ 474 – though the Ladies felt they had not been beaten by such a big margin as previous years.
The winning pair, Pat Jones and Dave Jackson, achieved 65 points, while Loes de Kleuver and Bob Marquiss came second with 57 points. The prize for the best individual score on the Ladies’ team went to Sue Sweet, and for the Seniors, Mike Norris. Loes de Kleuver won Nearest the Pin for the Ladies and Terry Ryan for the Seniors.
After the golf, everyone enjoyed a carvery lunch in the clubhouse, followed by the presentation of the prizes.
