On Saturday, 4th March, both the male and female records were broken at Midsomer Norton Town Park regular free 5k event.

The new male course record is now held by Oliver Aldred who ran in 18 minutes 57 seconds, whilst the female record was set by Victoria Ratcliffe in 21 minutes and 8 seconds. Both these runners are local and are members of  Somer AC.

Congratulations to them both as well as to all who took part, especially if it was their first 5k run.

This event is presented by Welton Church Runners and takes place every first Saturday on the month at 09.00hrs and starts at the Somer Centre.

Runners of all standards are welcome as well as walkers. Free tea and cakes are served after the event.
