A total of 114 men competed for the Showering Cup with the course and, in particular, the greens in such good order this was reflected in the scoring.

Division 3 went to Nigel Pidgeon with a net 66, long standing member and veteran golfer John Hargraves was second with 68 and Stuart Crane was third with 70 after count back.

Division 2 was won by Mark Smith with 70 after count back from Matt Horler and Malcolm Srawley and Division 1 went to Ben Park with 68 after count back from Matt Bendall with mens captain Mark Necker third with 69. However the cup was won by Jack Cook, playing off 10 who carded an excellent net 65. Jack Vowell won the Gross Prize with a par equalling 71.

The Cyder Cup six-a-side match between various sections of the club saw a win for the men who put out a strong team with handicaps from +2 to 9 who scored 202 points. The seniors came second, the juniors third and the ladies, were 4th.

52 competed in the Mid Week Stableford – Division 1 went to Kevin Keene with 39, Simon Brand was second with 37 and Steve Davis third with 35. Division 2 was won by Kerry Archibald with 39, David Braithwaite was second with 37 and Chris White was third with 36. However the best score of the day was in Division 3 which saw a win for Paul Cains with 42 points, Peter Walford was second with 37 and Steve Lake was third with 36.

The Longest Drive was won by James White with Martin Stephens winning the seniors category.

The Ladies Alliance B Team finished their fixtures with a 8-6 win over Saltford, wins coming from Fran Davies, Pauline Young, Edwina Willis and Chris Down. They finished fifth in their league, a good result after a very rocky start to the season. A similar success was recorded by the Ladies Friendly Team who beat Stockwood Vale 3-1 with wins from Ali Kay/Min Woodward, Allison Rumming/Jenny Howarth and Gina Howard/Julie Doyle. The Ladies Mid Week Stableford was won by Corinne Durbin with 31 points.

The seniors completed their season’s fixtures with a halved away match at Sherborne, winning for mendip were Gary Quin/Simon Atkinson, Tony Scott/Andy Frampton and Phil Brocks/Phil Bendall. The final tally of results was Played 37, won 21, halved 5 and lost 11.
