MEMBERS of the  seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club paid tribute to one of their former players at a special ceremony on the golf course.

John Waters died recently and it was his express wish that his ashes be spread on the course.

Members joined with John’s widow Jo and his son Matthew to see the ashes spread on the tree near the sixth tee.

Mrs Waters said: “John has played at a number of golf clubs but he always said that  this was the friendliest group of players that he had ever met. He loved playing at Fosseway and it is appropriate that his ashes should be spread here.”
