Ah! What a ‘spook’tacular evening we had on Saturday at Norwest. There were witches, skeletons, ghosts, bats, cats, spiders and all sorts of creepy crawlies lying in wait for members when they arrived for our Halloween Happening and what an entrance our members made!
We had a pair of vampires, Senor Bones from Day of the Dead, a cat lady and witches galore to add to the spookiness of what was a brilliant evening.
Among the games were ‘Whack a Witch’ where members threw eyes at witches and ‘Haunted House’ where they launched a selection of cockroaches, skeletons and spiders at a haunted house proved very popular but ‘Witches Brew’ where they had to guess the contents of some very strange concoctions in jars certainly had them all scratching their heads, even so, judging by the amount of cackling everyone was thoroughly enjoying themselves.
Halfway through the evening we enjoyed a sumptuous American supper and the evening was rounded off with an amazing raffle.
Congratulations went to Aaron, Ev, Mark, Nigel and Jack in our winning team, ‘The Vine Tree’, while the wooden spoons were happily carried off by Andy and Debbie Walker and Len and Yyvonne Gunstone.
Overall, it was a brilliant evening and our thanks go to Paul, our barman who kept us all in the party mood, Graham and Chloe who did a great job as our official scorers and last, but certainly not least, to all our members and friends who not only came along to support us but also supplied the food for the American supper and raffle prizes. Thank you all so much.
Finally, I’d just like to add congratulations to Chloe and Jack from Norwest, along with Cameron and Sam from Purnell’s, who on Sunday, played their first Somerset Juniors games of the Indoor season at Clevedon. It was a nail biting game and Somerset won! A great start to the season. NH
