A DEDICATED team of five Midsomer Norton Tae Kwon-Do students recently travelled to Paignton to compete in the Southern Competition and returned with an impressive haul of eight medals.
But for these athletes, competition isn’t just about medals. It’s about stepping out of their comfort zones, learning new skills, and building confidence that goes beyond the mats. Every competitor showed immense bravery and dedication, and we couldn’t be prouder of them all.
Sydné delivered a remarkable performance, winning first place in her patterns division. She continued her success with a second place finish in sparring and another second in the TAG Team sparring division, showcasing her well rounded skills and fierce determination.
Josh also gave an outstanding performance, winning his patterns division, securing third place in sparring, and taking second in the TAG Team sparring alongside his teammates. His hard work and focus were clearly evident throughout the competition.
For Stu, this was a memorable debut. Competing for the first time, he placed third in sparring and contributed to the team effort by securing second in the TAG Team sparring division. His achievement is a testament to his courage and enthusiasm for the sport.
Henry and Dexter also demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and teamwork. Though they didn’t bring home medals this time, they gained invaluable experience and cheered on their teammates, showcasing the supportive spirit of our club. A special mention goes to Dexter, who bravely competed for the first time a huge milestone on his Tae Kwon-Do journey.
As a team, they returned with medals, memories, and a wealth of experience. We are incredibly proud of every student who had the courage to step onto the mats, representing our club with honor, resilience, and heart.
Meanwhile, at the end of September, our dedicated team of six competitors travelled to Portsmouth to compete in the South East Regional Tae Kwon-Do Championships- and they absolutely dominated!
Bringing home an astonishing 13 medals, we couldn’t be prouder of their hard work, commitment, and incredible achievements. For anyone interested in joining our friendly and supportive club.
