On Wednesday, both the Ladies and Men's teams had games, with the Ladies finishing off their Wild League campaign with a rearranged home game against Castle Cary, in which they gained ten points against their opponents two points and the Men, playing a charity cup match under floodlights at Norwest against a combined team from the two Frome clubs, which was lost.

On Friday evening, the Men's team was scheduled to play Purnell Bowls Club in the Charity Cup at Norwest, but the green had large pools of water on it, so a skittles game was rapidly organised instead in the Norwest clubhouse. Purnell won this match. On Saturday afternoon, the finals of the last four of the club internal competitions (carried over from last weekend due to the clash with the Fear Plate Semi-Final) were played.

On Sunday, the big game was played. The Ladies, along with a group of supporters, went to Ashcombe Park to play Clarence in the Fear Plate Final. It was a busy day at Ashcombe Park as they were hosting three Ladies Finals on the one day. Bath, who had beaten Prattens in the Southey Trophy Semi-Final, won that competition, but lost in the Fear Cup to Yeovil. Prattens, who had never before featured in the final of any of these Ladies team competitions, played in the pouring rain, but lost overall by fifteen shots, winning on one rink and losing on two rinks.

Pictured above are the squad, looking slightly bedraggled after playing in the rain. Well done on this tremendous achievement to all of the Ladies including those who were away on holiday on this occasion, but played in previous rounds of both this and the Southey Trophy – Prattens Bowls Club is proud of you.
