Twenty-one of Mendip’s Past Captains met for their annual get together. As usual it was a most enjoyable and social occasion which went on long into the evening.

The results are of secondary importance on a day such as this but the individual trophy went to Tony Taylor with 40 points and he together with Mike Snaith, Jim Scott and Colin Davies took the team prize with 91 points.

As is of custom the Mens Captain Elect is invited and who has the pleasure of providing the port! J

Jack Hayes at age 31 when he takes the reins next spring will become Mendip’s youngest Captain and playing off a handicap of 2 demonstrated what can be expected of him when he struck a 3 iron on the Par 4 17th tee into the middle of the green and sank the putt for an eagle two!!  Tony Williams
