CHEW Valley end their season in Regional One South West with a home game against seventh-placed Royal Wootton Bassett on Saturday, April 5.

Although their results have improved tremendously since the first half of the season, Valley will still finish in the bottom three after losing 15 of their 21 matches. Five of their wins have come since Christmas.

They will also be looking to avenge a 25-19 away defeat by Saturday’s opponents on the opening day of the new season.

Meanwhile, the championship race has gone down to the wire with only two points separating leaders Barnstaple and second-placed Brixham, both teams having won the same number of matches.

Barnstaple are home to fourth-placed St Austell while Brixham entertain Launceston who are lying in fifth spot.

Fixtures for Saturday, April 5: Brixham v Launceston, Chew Valley v Royal Wotton Bassett, Exmouth v Sidmouth, Marlborough v Lydney, Barnstaple v St Austell, Ivybridge v Matson.
