MIDSOMER Norton stretched their lead at the top of Counties Two Somerset - without handing a ball over the weekend.
They were awarded five points after their opponents Nailsea & Backwell cried off. Avon moved up to second in the table - going above Minehead Barbarians whose game against Rebels Rugby was postponed - after they won an exciting game 25-24 against Clevedon who went into the match just one place below their rivals.
Meanwhile, Midsomer Norton will be aiming to complete yet another double for the season when they play away to Imperial this coming weekend.
Imperial will not be looking forward to the game, having been hammered 101-7 when the sides met at Midsomer Norton in late October.
Fixtures for February 1, Counties Two Somerset: Chew Valley v Avon, Imperial v Midsomer Norton, Minehead Barbarians v Hornets, Nailsea & Backwell v Clevedon, Oldfield Old Boys v Wells, St Bernadettes Old Boys v Rebels Rugby.
