SOMER Valley Tennis has enjoyed a winter of competitive mixed leagues for both our ‘regular’ players plus our more experienced ‘senior’ ones. Ably led by captains/co coordinators Will Knight, Darren Thompson and Janie Bullus,

Our mixed 1st team were promoted to Division 1 last year and held their own in the toughest mixed division in Avon, we are pretty sure they will stay up, which is a HUGE achievement for the first year in being in this prestigious league. Several of our 1st team ladies and men played including Mandy Baldwin, Francesca Beg, Alex Hull, Will Knight, Patrick Lodge, Luis Jauregui, Sam Perryman plus others who supported as and when required! There are still a couple of matches to play.

Our new 2nd mixed team started in the bottom division (6). Success upon success was the name of the game and with numerous members of the club playing from our juniors to our elder members the team finished top.

The senior mixed team, was made up of a number of men and women from the club all keen to play at least one match, Darren Thompson (co ordinator) was spoilt for choice and with a wealth of availability the team was second in the league.
