ORCHARDLEIGH Golf Club members have competed in the Jefferies Trophy - an annual mixed pairs 4BBB competition.

It was played on Sunday,  August 11, in good sunny weather conditions which probably contributed to the high scoring. The winning pair Ann and Steve James brought in an impressive score of 48 points and close behind were Jan Light and Pete Merrett with 47. 

The Ladies section played The Sally Lock Trophy which is a two round Stableford competition which took place on Thursday 15th August and Thursday 22nd August.

The first round was played in reasonably good conditions, but the second round was in wind and rain. On completion of the first round Sue Chalker and Sonia Probert came in with 36 points followed by Anne Regler on 34.

In the second round, despite the inclement weather conditions, Anne Regler had a cracking round of 40 points so was the clear winner of the Sally Lock Trophy with an aggregate score of 74. Carol Weightman came in with a second round score of 37, but Sue Sweet who scored 30 in the first round and 36 in the second round was runner up with an aggregate score of 66, followed by Pat Pitt who scored a 31 and 34 totalling 65 points.
