TIMSBURY 2nd XI were involved in an excellent game at home to Pucklechurch in the Bristol and District League Division 5 before eventually losing by four wickets with just an over to spare.
Batting first Timsbury ended on 177-6 from their 40 overs with Dan Hill top scoring with 43. Acting skipper Adam Workman struck 25 and there was a lively partnership at the end from Sam Sparks (28 not out) and Zak Cox (18 not out). The game was in the balance right to the end but despite a brace of wickets each for Cox, Steve Clothier and Hill Pucklechurch wrapped up victory mainly thanks to Young (45).
Timsbury 3rd XI found it tough going at home to Frampton Cotterell thirds in the Bristol and District League Division 9 East and were well beaten by 108 runs.
After fielding first Timsbury fought back hard after the visitors had got off to a flier and there were good bowling returns from Matt Ball (4-17), Oscar Mallon (2-12) in 7 overs and Chris Rawlings (2-35) with the Bristol side finishing on 180-9.
The main problem for the thirds this season has been batting and apart from Neil Watkins and Ball no-one managed double figures as they were dismissed for 72.
