Looking to get 2024 off to a positive start? If so, why not set yourself some fitness goals and enter the Chew Valley 10k, a rural 10km race with a fantastic atmosphere. This year’s race takes place on Sunday, 9th June at 9.30am in Bishop Sutton in the beautiful Chew Valley.

Sponsored by Winford Ford and Brock & Houlford Expert Eyecare, the race offers plenty for first-timers and fast-runners to enjoy. The chip-timed race appeals to young and old, many of whom return every year to take on the undulating route and compete in a wide range of race categories.

As a race, it draws lots of local support and all runners get to keep their memories from the day with a free downloadable race photo. For just £25, runners who enter via chewvalley10k.co.uk will get a T shirt and race medal (adults aged 19+). Runners aged 15-18 year olds get great value for money with entry fee of just £15. For anyone not interested in a T shirt, the adult entry price is just £22.

This community-focused event raises lots of money for good causes – this year it is supporting NICU Support, Bishop Sutton Primary School Society, Chew Valley School Society and Black2Nature.

Regular runners return year in, year out, with many praising the Chew 10k’s organisation and atmosphere. One runner wrote “I’ve taken part in 10ks, 10 milers, half marathons and even my first marathon.

This event has to be up in the top 3 for organisation, friendliness of the event and utter awesome marshalling! Will definitely be back!”
