Police are appealing for the public’s help after a man was assaulted and racially abused in Frome.
Between 3.30-4pm on Thursday, 11, August, a victim had been sunbathing in Mary Bailey Playing Fields, in Frome, when the offender punched him in the mouth. The victim reported the man who assaulted him also used racist and threatening language.
The victim did not need to go to hospital, but is awaiting dental treatment.
The victim described the offender as white, between 55-60 years old, around 5ft 6ins tall, of small build with a Scottish accent. He had short, grey hair and was wearing a grey t-shirt and jeans.

This comes after another man was involved in a racially motivated attack, on Wessex fields in Frome on Tuesday, 2nd, August, at around 5.30pm.
An unknown man approached the victim, who was sat in his car at the Sainsburys car park in Wessex Fields, Frome, and started making racial comments.
The suspect then climbed into his own vehicle, parked near the victim’s stationary vehicle, and continued to racially abuse him.
The victim described the man as white, around 5ft 9ins tall, of large build with brown hair with a receding hairline. The suspect was wearing dark jeans, green-brown t-shirt and was clean-shaven. He was driving a dark-coloured 4×4-style vehicle.
