The Chilcompton Society annual flower show takes place on Saturday 3rd September at the village hall, when a choice of more than 60 classes awaits residents of Chilcompton and Stratton on the Fosse who are eligible to enter the competition. Members of the Chilcompton club can also have a go.

There are vegetable, flower and cookery sections including the best decorated Platinum Jubilee cake, when only the decoration will be judged. The Jubilee theme also features in the hobbies section with a handmade card or floral arrangement. Entries of photographs will be welcome entitled ‘Rusting Away’, ‘Happy’ or ‘Local Area’.

What do children collect these days? Whatever it is they can enter their treasures on a tray or in a box up to 30cms by 25cms.

The committee hopes for a record number of entries this year to make the show better than ever. Teas will be served from 2.15 pm. when the show opens. Schedules are available from David on 01761 233142.
