SWALLOW Charity is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year. Thirty for 30 Challenge to help raise funds for our charity, supporting teenagers and adults with learning disabilities to live life to the full.
So far, Bev Craney, our CEO, and Shelley Lines, our Deputy Registered Manager, have completed a fantastic thirty kilometre walk. Our cafe staff team have been swimming thirty lengths before work, one staff member is cycling three hundred kilometres throughout the month, one of our members and his support worker are cycling thirty kilometres and another has hosted a cream tea party. One member has even given up chocolate for the month and someone else is walked every day throughout June.
Our groups have also been joining in - with thirty basketball hoops a day, thirty paintings, thirty recipes and thirty ‘cress heads’ with staff portraits!
And still to come, we have a thirty kilometre bike ride, a thirty mile trek and even an incredible cycle ride from Land’s End to Orkney!
Would you be able to support all these challenges by donating through our Just Giving page? All of the money raised will go directly towards helping keep SWALLOW thriving for thirty more years and beyond. If you’d like to help us further, perhaps you could run for SWALLOW in an upcoming challenge?
We still have discounted spaces available on our Bath Half Marathon team. If you, or someone you know, would like to run for us this year - we would love to hear from you.
The Bath Half Marathon is taking place on Sunday 15th October, so there is still plenty of time to train. In addition to a discounted place, you will also receive a SWALLOW running t-shirt, hints and tips ahead of the run and heaps of support and good cheer from us on the day!
