Orange Juice Promotions, a female-fronted events company rooted in Frome, is putting on two empowering events to celebrate International Women’s Day 2024.

Jade and Olivia are the duo behind Orange Juice promotions and their mission is to champion female and LGBTQ+ performers, bringing them to the spotlight in the culturally rich market town.

In the first of the two upcoming events, on Tuesday 5th March, Dr Samantha Hiew - a multi-award-winning storyteller and scientist - will be heading to the Cheese & Grain to showcase her talk about neurodiversity in women. ‘ADHD and Women: Your Story, Your 
 
Way Forward’ will see Samantha discussing how to come to terms with an Autism or ADHD diagnosis - something which commonly happens later in life for women than it does for men. Discussing the reasons for booking this event, Jade said: “I saw Dr Samantha Hiew at an event last year and it helped me a lot. I am one of the walking statistics who suddenly realised I’m probably neurodivergent in my thirties, but the waiting lists for a diagnosis are long and it’s hard to get answers as a woman as the symptoms can be very different to the ones often associated with ADHD”.

“What I want from this event is for people to come along and realise that they are not alone”.

The second event, happening on International Women’s Day (Friday 8th March), will feature ‘accidental influencer’ Lou Featherstone, also known on Instagram as @luinluland. Lu’s goal is to empower women to find mid-life confidence rather than crisis, bearing all along the way. In her no-holes-barred show, ‘Lu In Luland: Self Love Revolution’ will feature sex positivity, personal stories and lots of strong language. The event will take place at the Merlin Theatre in Frome and is recommended for ages 18+.
