Some of the most popular and successful entertainment acts in the region will be performing at this year’s 15th anniversary Party in the Park in Peasedown.
Bands have been applying to perform from September onwards and the full-stage lineup has been complete since February.
The festival is organised by the village’s local councillors, Cllr Karen Walker and Cllr Gavin Heathcote (Independents), who said: “A very large proportion of our festival budget goes on entertainment and the costs we have to spend in connection with it.
“Without the support of our major sponsors this year, we really would have struggled to put on the spectacular summer festival we have planned. In total, we received over 25 enquires from performers wanting to appear on our Main Stage this year – the most ever.”
This year’s festival sponsors are Curo, St John’s Church, Bath Audi, Radfield Home Care and Bath & North East Somerset Council.
Party in the Park has teamed up with Radio Bath and Reaper Events for the event. Radio Bath has organised the line up of performances, and Reaper Events are providing the staging, lighting and sound equipment on the day.
Loraine Morgan-Brinkhurst MBE, Radio Bath co-founder, said: “Peasedown Party in the Park is hugely popular not just locally, but across the region. This is why our team here at Radio Bath love to support it each year.
“It’s great to see public events like this happening across Bath & North East Somerset, they are great for bringing family and friends together.”
The festival is expected to see almost 3,000 people come through its gates on June 8 – in part to celebrate the event’s 15th anniversary!
Performing at this year’s festival are:
- Original Barn Finds - A band on a mission to bring joy to the masses through the medium of classic covers in a Folk/Americana/Bluegrass style.
- Peasedown St John Primary School Children - Pupils will perform a number of songs – they have been practising for weeks so we’re looking forward to having them with us.
- Trash Casino - A five piece Rock and Pop outfit who are currently working on their first originals album.
- The Cult of the Velvet Rattlesnake - a band ready to blow your minds with their brand of jaw-dropping electric blues.
