The highly anticipated Valley Arts Fringe Festival is back this October and set to ignite the local arts scene with a packed lineup that includes comedy, theatre, live music, family-friendly performances and interactive workshops.
The festival will open with an electrifying Live Music Showcase on Saturday, October 5, at Chew Stoke, bringing together local bands and solo artists for a celebration of Chew Valley talent. It’s the perfect way to start the festival on a high note!
Then, pack your snorkel and flippers and get ready to explore the deep with songs, humour and lots of audience interaction with Deep Sea Seekers from the Wardrobe Ensemble on Sunday, October 13, in Dundry Village Hall.
On Sunday, October 20, Roustabout Theatre bring Little Red Riding Could to St Andrews Church Hall in Chew Magna. This mischievous retelling of the familiar fairy tale, with original songs and signature Roustabout silliness, dares audiences to step off the well trodden path and write their own story.
Valley Arts Fringe Festival offers a diverse programme that caters to all tastes from thrilling supernatural stories to classical music. Master storyteller Vic Llewellyn takes us on a haunting journey into the unknown with No One Is Listening, A Ghost Story on Saturday, October 12.
Prepare for a toe-tapping, germ-spreading extravaganza where the laughter is infectious as Living Spit perform their hilarious new show There’s Something About Typhoid Mary in Bishop Sutton on Friday 18th October. With their trademark brand of wit, song and puerile puppetry, fans of the local theatre duo will not be disappointed!
On Friday, October 19, writer and radio maker John Osborne brings his Radio 4 show The New Blur Album to the Old School Room, Chew Magna. A brief reminiscence of youth, full of heart and soul, this story about getting older, friendship and Blur will appeal to Britpop fans old and new.
The Bristol Ensemble return to Chew Magna Church on November 2 to perform Bridgerton in Concert by Candlelight with elegant melodies inspired by the Netflix sensation.
