The award-winning all-female Jenny Peplow Choir were the big hit of the evening at the Community Christmas Carol Service.
The choir led the audience in festive sing-alongs to Winter Wonderland and other holiday favourites at the Community Christmas Carol Service, hosted by the Rotary Club of Midsomer Norton and Radstock, at the Church of St John the Baptist, Midsomer Norton.
The Jenny Peplow Singers is a choir based in the the area. The choir performs a wide range of events, often in support of local causes. The choir also recently performed at Norton Down Chapel with a concert that raised funds for the chapel's upkeep.
The service served as an opportunity for local groups to come together in support of the festive season, with participants and attendees sharing poems, songs, and festive performances, on Tuesday, December 10,
Club President Debby Huxham welcomed the chairmen from Mendip and District Round Table, Norton Radstock Tangent, Mendip and District Ladies Circle, 41 Club and the Mayor of Midsomer Norton Martyn Plant, who all participated in readings.
Members John Dando and Debby Huxham read Christmas poems and the service was presided over by Rev G. Scott. Many of the congregation stayed afterwards to enjoy mulled wine and mince pies generously donated by Rotarians, Reid and Tricia Speirs and John Dando.
A spokesperson for the club said: "The Rotary Club of Midsomer Norton and Radstock extends its wishes for health, happiness, peace, and prosperity to everyone this Christmas and throughout the New Year."
