Since the last public trains of the winter on January 1, activity at the station has remained busy as volunteers prepare for the upcoming season with routine maintenance and out-of-season projects.
Each Sunday, the Permanent Way team has been clearing trackside vegetation in preparation for the Midsomer Norton railway’s reopening on Sunday, April 6.
This work involves clearing undergrowth, brambles, and trees to reveal the full extent of the space between the track and the boundary fence. The area is looking much improved, but the challenge will be maintaining this progress as spring growth begins.
Volunteers are welcome to join the team every Sunday from 9am to assist with this ongoing work. Those interested in volunteering or learning about other roles can contact [email protected].
