Parents and carers of children with special educational needs and disabilities are invited to a free drop-in event in Midsomer Norton to find out about the local support available.
Representatives from more than 25 organisations will be available at the event at the Somer Centre to talk about the opportunities for families available in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES) on Monday, March 24, from 10am - 2pm.
The event is the result of a partnership between Live Well B&NES and the B&NES Parent Carer Forum.
Live Well B&NES manages Bath and North East Somerset's Special Educational needs and Disability (SEND) Local Offer, which provides young people with SEND and their families information to help them find the right help and support.
The B&NES Parent Carer Forum works closely with parents and carers to ensure that local authorities understand what life is like for families and their children.
HCRG’s Care Group’s new Neurodevelopmental Pathway service, the SEND Information, Advice and Support Service, and Bright Start Children’s Centres will be at the event.
Also attending are Bristol Autism Support, Youth Connect South West, Off the Record BANES, Bath and North East Somerset Libraries and West of England Music and Arts.
Councillor Paul May, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “This event is a brilliant way for families and carers to find out more about the support and facilities available in Bath and North East Somerset.
“You can chat first-hand to professionals from a range of organisations about how they can help you and find out about the activities you can access locally to get the most out of life. Drop in to discover more.”
Free refreshments and a separate quiet space will be available. One-to-one appointments with providers are not offered at the event.
