Fosseway Golf Club hosted an event to mark the beginning of its partnership with a Bath-based charity which supports young people.
The golf club has joined forces with Mentoring Plus, which supports young people in Bath & North East Somerset who face various challenges.
The organisation helps people aged from five to 25-years-old feel connected through award-winning mentoring schemes, youth clubs, and inspiring activity programmes within the community.
The event, which took place on March 1, featured golf club members and charity mentors and their mentees who participated in a nine-hole Texas Scramble competition.
Fosseway Golf Club said in a statement: “Club members generously provided sets of clubs for the mentees, many of whom were experiencing golf for the very first time. The weather was perfect, and a great day was had by all.
“Afterwards, a presentation was held with Ruth Brown and John Harvey from Mentoring Plus giving an insightful talk about the charity and the ways in which they support young people. Prizes were then awarded to all the mentees.
“The golf club has committed to allowing all mentors and mentees to play free golf with a member, providing them with the opportunity to enjoy the game.
“A big thank you goes to Somerset Golf Union and Mark Manley from Centurion Hotel to help support the event.”
In the coming months there will be fundraising events, such as a games night and a charity golf day at the end of the year.
Mentoring Plus invites kind, emphatic and supportive people who have one to two hours spare each week to join the volunteer mentoring programme.
The charity trains and supports volunteer mentors before matching them with a young person who needs a positive role model - someone who will take them out each week, encourage them to explore their interests and try new activities.
