Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions Club is holding a free prostate examination event at Midsomer Norton Methodist Church Hall on Saturday, October 26, in association with Somerset Prostate Support Association.
This is the second time that such an event has been held by the club, with the first happening in September 2022 which was well received.
Around 40,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year, with about 10,000 dying from the disease annually.
These will be simple blood tests, carried out by medical professionals and are strictly confidential.
Men over 40 years old are encouraged to book their test for peace of mind. Appointments must be made using either of these websites: https://spsa.mypsatests.org.uk/Events/ or www.rmnlions.org.uk.
Appointments will be held between 10am and 4pm.
Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions have thanked the late Keith Burchell, a charter member for the club, for the generous legacy he left that has enabled them to put on an event such at this that could potentially save men’s lives.
