Alan Bowhay, President of Somer Valley Rotary Club was delighted to present a Paul Harris Fellowship award to one of our members, Jackie Partridge. This is one of the highest awards given within Rotary International and reflects the amazing work Jackie has done for the local and international community.
She has collected books and organized for a container to take them to a school in Africa to start a library and also used her own money to provide uniforms for the school in Kenya. Other international work involved joining a fellowship exchange trip to Peru to improve international understanding and relationships. On the Peruvian group’s return to the UK, she provided them with a guided tour of Bath and hosted some of the Peruvian Rotarians in her house. They remarked to us how impressed they were by her dedication.
Her tireless work within our Somer Valley club has seen her involved with many projects supporting our local community including organising a recent Blood Pressure checking session in Midsomer Norton. Jackie also collaborates with other clubs, helping Chelwood Bridge Rotary Club to organize their Water Survival Box packing and MSN Lions Club with their Santa float. We are very blessed to have Jackie as part of our Rotary Club.
