A MAN in his 20s remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition after a serious crash on the A370 more than a week ago.

The incident happened after a BMW failed to stop for police before colliding with a tree on the A-road near Flax Bourton at around 2am on Wednesday, November 6.

The driver and passenger of a black BMW 5 series both went to hospital and their next of kin have been made aware and are being supported. The passenger went to hospital as a precaution.

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed today (November 14) the man remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition. 

Police said shortly after the incident: “The car had failed to stop for a marked police vehicle and almost immediately was involved in a collision with a tree.

“A referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

“No other injuries have been reported.”
