The Entitled Sons set to star at Midsomer Norton Music and Arts Festival, aided by support from sponsors Curo.

Returning to Midsomer Norton’s Town Park on Saturday 3rd June is this year’s Music and Arts Festival. The full line-up of artists has been finalised, and today headliners have been announced as The Entitled Sons.

The six-piece, hailing locally from Somerset, have been going from strength-to-strength. Last seen in the Somer Valley wowing crowds at 2022’s Outfield Festival, in March the group won The Pilton Stage competition, and will be performing at Glastonbury this year.

Graham Swift is bassist in the band, along with his four sons Billy, Charlie, Raffey and Laurie, and Somervale School’s own guitar tutor Sydney Bull.

Graham is pleased to be back playing live in Midsomer Norton. “We were honoured to be involved with Outfield last year. In the eight months since, we’ve developed as a band and individual musicians, releasing new tracks and honing our live performances. It’s a privilege to be asked to headline the Music and Arts Festival. We’re keen for the Midsomer Norton audience to hear our new work”.

“With my parents organising Midsomer Norton music events back in the 1990’s, it’s a little full circle for me”, said Sydney. “I was born during that period of time, so to have the opportunity to headline in my home town is something special”.

The Entitled Sons released a new single last week called Not Invited.

Martyn Plant, Midsomer Norton Community Trust’s organiser of the music acts booked, was also pleased. “Despite the Music and Arts Festival being a free event, we want to bring the best possible live music to all our residents in the Somer Valley and further afield. We will announce other artists performing over the next few weeks, along with the excellent Arts plans we have for the Festival. We want our free event to have the best sounds across North East Somerset”.

None of this would be possible without sponsorship. As the first key sponsorship partnership announcement, the Festival team is thrilled that Curo have signed a sponsorship deal. Marianne Rawlins, Curo’s Communications and Media Manager commented: “With thousands of residents in the local area, Curo are delighted to support the Midsomer Norton Music and Arts Festival. This free, community, family-focused event will be a valuable chance for our residents to get together to enjoy fantastic entertainment and children’s activities this summer, and we’re proud to be part of it.”

More festival news will be incoming over the next five weeks prior to the festival on Saturday, 3rd June 2023.
