Paulton Parish Council hosted its first Christmas Extravaganza at the Memorial Park on Friday and Saturday, November 29-30.

Christmas lights were turned on at 6.30pm on the Friday evening, officially kicking off the event.

There was a variety of Christmas stalls selling wreaths, artworks, a licensed bar, hot chocolate, live music, Santa’s grotto, carol singers, a skating rink, snow globe and a polar bear.

Santa visited the extravaganza at 4pm on the Saturday afternoon, and he was well received by the excited children.

Paulton Parish Council is delighted that so many people attended, and enjoyed, its first Christmas Extravaganza.

The council extends a thank you to all the sponsors, which include: Central Garage, JJ Service Station (Murco), Berkeley Coaches, Forrester Sylvester Mackett, Allen's, DJ Phillips, SG Taylor and Simon Davis.

Without sponsorship the event’s ice skating rink and snow dome would not have been free to enjoy by visitors.

The event also thanks Celebration Bars, the food vendors, the stall holders and all the different bands.

There were also a number of unpaid volunteers who gave their time and effort for no personal gain to help pull off a fabulous event.
