IT’S not long now until Peasedown St John’s biggest annual event – the Party in the Park community festival.

Starting at 11.30am on Saturday, June 8, Peasedown’s Party in the Park will offer seven and a half hours of entertainment through to 7pm. This year is the extravaganza’s 15th anniversary.

Sponsored by St John’s Church, Curo, B&NES Council, Radfield Home Care and Bath Audi, almost 3,000 people are expected to attend the shindig, hosted on Beacon Field.

The festival is organised by local charity, the Peasedown Community Trust.

The event includes a huge array of stalls and attractions, a dog show, hot food, community stalls and the return of the Peasedown Diamond cider.

Christina Maria Trevenio-Steiner, Director of Radfield Home Care Bath, said: “The event organisers have been working very hard to ensure this year’s Party in the Park is the best yet with even more attractions, performers and special guests. Radfield Homecare is always pleased to support events that make a positive impact in the community, which is why we are delighted to be one of the Party in the Park official sponsors.”

Main stage performances include: Original Barn Finds; Peasedown St John Primary School Children; Trash Casino; 4 Undercover, RevelationZ Band, Cult of the Velvet Rattlesnake, Leon Daye Band, and the Lone Sharks.

The stage and entertainment line-up this year is being managed by Reaper Events and Radio Bath.

Party in the Park Festival Managers, Cllr Karen Walker and Cllr Gavin Heathcote (Independents), commented: “We are hoping to top the last 14 years’ worth of festivals and put on a show never seen before in Peasedown St John.

“The team has worked exceptionally hard this year. We have almost 40 attractions, more than 20 safety personnel signed-up to make sure things run smoothly, and have raised £3,000 in sponsorship, which contributes towards the £7,000 event costs we need to host the event.

The six members of the management team have contributed more than 300 hours of volunteer time to ensure Peasedown’s Party in the Park lives up to its already positive reputation.”
