Bath and North East Somerset Council is one of 96 local authorities taking part in a satisfaction survey that will ask a random sample of its residents for feedback on its highway and transport network – from the condition of roads and footpaths to the quality of cycling facilities.

This is the 17th year the National Highway and Transport Public Satisfaction Survey has taken place, with last year’s survey ranking Bath’s Park and Ride scheme second in the country for satisfaction and the council’s highway maintenance topped the South West rankings.

The questionnaire will be sent by post to a random sample of at least 3,300 people. Residents that receive the questionnaire will also be able to complete it online.

It gives respondents an opportunity to say which highways and transport services they think the council should prioritise, invest in and improve. The results will help inform the council when it plans highways schemes and is a good indicator of how it is performing.

Councillor Manda Rigby, cabinet member for transport, said: “We appreciate and value all feedback from residents and the results from this survey help show us what we’re doing well and where we need to improve.”
