Residents are being warned to expect potential disruption when a Radstock road closes for around three days.
Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES) Council says a temporary closure will be in place from 14 Springfield Buildings south east to its junction with Woodborough Road.
The council says on its website: “This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Bristol Water to install a new connection on September 16 for a maximum period of six months.
“The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be affected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for three days.”
An alternative route will be in place via Tamblyn Road and Woodborough Road.
