The best performing primary schools in North Somerset have been revealed.
Children are assessed at the end of year 6 as they leave primary school.
The latest performance figures show 61% of children across England reached the expected standard across reading, writing and maths when assessed at the end of the 2023-24 academic year.
In North Somerset this was 60%.
But which schools in the area performed the best? We rank the top 10 below.
1. Northleaze Church of England Primary School
In first place is Northleaze Church of England Primary School.
Some 88% of pupils at the school met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths.
2. Winscombe Primary School
Coming in second place is Winscombe Primary School – the school had a score of 84%.
3. St Peter's Church of England Primary School, and Tickenham Church of England Primary School
With 82% of pupils meeting the expected standard, St Peter's Church of England Primary School, and Tickenham Church of England Primary School come third on the podium of the best performing primary schools in North Somerset.
5. St Joseph's Catholic Primary School
Rounding out the top five with 81% of pupils meeting the required standard in maths, reading and writing is St Joseph's Catholic Primary School.
6. Dundry Church of England Primary School
In sixth place, is Dundry Church of England Primary School.
The expected standard was met by 80% of pupils here.
7. Blagdon Primary School, and Birdwell Primary School
Just behind are Blagdon Primary School, and Birdwell Primary School, where 79% of pupils met the required standard by the end of year 6.
9. Golden Valley Primary School
In ninth place is Golden Valley Primary School.
At this school, 78% of pupils met the required standard.
10. Yeo Moor Primary School
And rounding out the top 10 is Yeo Moor Primary School.
Some 76% of pupils met the required standard in reading, writing and maths here.
