Drivers in and around North Somerset will have two National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing a wait of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

M5, from 9pm December 16 to 6am December 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 entry Slip closure for electrical work, diversion M5 southbound to junction 20 and return.

M5, from 8pm December 19 to 6am December 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 19 to 20, lane closure for barrier works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
