Today, ambulance workers across the South West are on strike over pay levels and staffing.

Unison, organising the strikes, has made it clear that staff are able to leave the picket lines to respond to emergency calls.

RUH Bath, who have been experiencing high volumes of emergency calls, tweeted earlier today that the strikes will effect South Western Ambulance Service until 8pm tonight.

South Western Ambulance Service tweeted for help from the public in preparation for the strikes:

The ambulance service are continuing to work hard to get everyone the help they need
