WEST of England mayor Dan Norris visited Bishop Sutton Community Village Hall to officially unveil the facility's new solar panels.
The installation is part of a broader initiative to promote renewable energy and sustainability within the community.
The enhancements also feature an upgrade to more efficient LED lighting, contributing to reduced energy consumption. This community project was made possible by a West of England Mayoral Rural Community Grant.
Bishop Sutton Village Hall has received £35,350 from the UK government through the Rural England Prosperity Fund, which is part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
The Rural England Prosperity Fund supports solar and battery initiatives at village halls throughout Bath and North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire, assisting local communities in reducing energy expenses and emissions. Additionally, the West of England’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund is funding community-driven nature projects in collaboration with Your Park Bristol and the Avon Wildlife Trust.
