Once again, Bishop Sutton Tennis Club is kicking off the start of the summer season by opening its gates to anyone curious about giving tennis a go. Its annual Open Day this year will be held on Sunday, May 19, between 11am and 2pm.
Whether you're a total newcomer, returning to tennis after a break, or are considering getting the kids into the game, the club’s coaches will be running free taster sessions for all ages and abilities, from tots to adults. Alongside the coaching, you can try out fun sessions of cardio or walking tennis. Racquets and balls will be available at the club.
You‘ll also have the opportunity to try out Pickleball, on one of Bishop Sutton’s two courts. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a cross between tennis, badminton and table tennis. It’s easy to pick up and has been named as US’s fastest-growing sport for the last three years.
The day provides a great opportunity to meet the club's friendly members and coaching team and if you're thinking about joining, generous membership discounts will be available on the day.
Alongside all the fun on the court, the club will be offering refreshments including teas, coffees and soft drinks as well as firing up the barbecue and tempting you with home-made cakes.
So head on down, grab a racket and get set for summer.
