THE Winter Turkey Trot Competitions are now underway at Mendip Golf Club with the first being a 3 Clubs and a Putter event which saw 79 entrants.

Div 1 went to Richard Connock with 39 points, well clear of the second placed, after count back, Jeremy Lawrence with 34 with Dan Owen 3rd and Julian Redpath 4th. Div 2 went to Phil McKenny with 36, Mark Smith was 2nd with 35 and Dan Rowe was 3rd with 34 after count back from Craig Robertson. Div 3 saw the best score of the day from Andy Wells with 41 points with Ryan Davis 2ndwith 39 after count back from Nigel Coleman.

Forty-four Ladies played in a ‘Fun’ 18 hole event where it seems that they had to do something different on each hole! The Winners with 126 points were Margaret Allen, Lulu Carolan, Lilian Peel and Pippa Brown. In 2nd place were Jenny Ahlberg, Lena Warren, Fran Davies and Marian Speed with 121 points and 3rd were Edwina Willis, Jan Light, Sally Humphries and Annette Jobbins with 118 points.

The Ladies Vyvyan Clare Trophy was won by Sarah James with a +3 score with Aimee Sawyer 2nd on level pa rand Susy Rudkin was 3rd at -1.
