A shorter report this week due to the English summer weather, rain stops play as the saying goes.

Tuesdays ladies match was cancelled due to expected rain and the mens MSL on Wednesday was postponed again until next Tuesday due to unfavourable conditions.

However, on Thursday, the mixed friendly away against Prattens was played in improving conditions with the sun causing visibility issues towards the end!

The match ended favourably for Paulton and was followed by the usual excellent hospitality from the hosts and the good humour from the match carried through the tea.

Friday the Ladies played the Fear Plate away but despite valiant efforts by everyone and winning on two rinks they eventually lost overall, better luck next year Ladies.

Sunday, in a mixed friendly, we were away to Trowbridge Westbourne, a club well worth the travel time. The weather changed in time for the afternoon and play was held in mainly brilliant sunshine; a win on three rinks and overall in shots was followed by an excellent tea concluding a great afternoons diversion.

Let’s hope the weather continues to improve for the rest of the season.
