This week has been, despite valiant efforts by our teams, a miscellany of fortunes.
Tuesday saw both the Mens and Ladies teams playing. The men at home against Purnells in the MSL, to complete a long-awaited postponed game, and the Ladies away to Frome Park in the Ladies League.
The Ladies brought their latest winning streak to this game, triumphing ten points to two, keep the momentum going ladies. However despite a close game on all rinks, not helped by being a man short, the Men’s team lost the game to their opponents.
Thursday a team visited Norwest to play in the Golden Oldies competition, although this may appear to be a slight misnomer when reviewing the teams or perhaps everyone is looking younger as I become older! Unfortunately we came second in this match as well, but a great time was had by all participants and spectators throughout the afternoon.
The Sunday friendly against Castle Cary was called off but the postponed club triples were able to be played in preparation for the finals weekend which takes place on the 26th and 27th of this month.
Finally a reminder that Aussie day is on the 1st of September.
