On Sunday 9th July, we were very fortunate to dodge all the rain with a great friendly at Chew Stoke. Although being soundly beaten by our hosts, it was a lovely day played in the best manner.
Tuesday should have seen our men play at home in the Turnbull cup against Keynsham but the weather played its wettest hand and the game was abandoned.
Wednesday saw our Mens MSL Teams in action with the ‘A’ team, securing a win at home to Frome Selwood and the ‘B’ team winning by the narrowest margin of one shot away to Prattens. Our Ladies travelled to Stothert & Pitt on Thursday afternoon and came away with a convincing win on both rinks. On Friday, the Ladies Fear Cup game against Paulton had to be cancelled amid one of the heaviest days’ rain I can remember, it has been rescheduled for 3pm on Monday 17th July.
We managed to play all our Saturday league games. The ‘A’ team secured an 11-1 win away at Clevedon Prom and our ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams were home to Imperial and Knowle ‘B’. The ‘B’ team won 10-2 and the ‘C’ team losing 2-10. I would like to pay tribute to the ladies who stepped in to make up the numbers for the ‘C’ team who, without whom the game would not have happened.
